‘Silent Beach Huts’ by Pam Carter

Born in East Africa to an Austrian Mother and Scottish Father she came to Glasgow at the age of thirteen. She graduated from Glasgow School of Art in the 70’s and lectured for many years in Further Education Colleges and during that time she became a well known landscape painter. Currently she paints full time. She has had numerous solo exhibitions throughout Britain and also in the USA and has participated in several group shows including the Royal Scottish Society (RSA), the Royal Glasgow Institute (RGI), Visual Arts Scotland (VAS), and the Paisley Art Institute (PAI). She gained awards from each of the latter three Institutes. She was awarded the PAI Diploma from the PAI in2019. She was also featured in two BBC2 programs, Castle in the Country and Landward and recently in 2017 was interviewed on The STV News. Pam is inspired by the changing light of the Western Isles and the intimate icons of the islands.
