The artist, James Orr, known for his vibrant paintings of the west coast of Scotland and the beaches and vineyards of Mallorca, died on 12 January after a short illness. James was a long standing member of the RGI having exhibited in many annual exhibitions since the 1970s. He also won the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons, Glasgow Award in 1997. His work is held in the collection of HRH Duke of Edinburgh and in many private collections both here in the UK and abroad.
The funeral service will be held at Masonhill Crematorium in Ayr on Thursday, 31st January at 12 noon. Family flowers only, but there will be a collection for Macmillan Cancer Support and Marie Curie at the end of the funeral service.
