Working from her Glasgow studio, she seeks out these overlooked traces of history, where weathering and decay become quiet records of time. These observations inform both her abstract and figurative work. Close studies of tombstone surfaces and imagery evolve into larger paintings that echo the textures shaped by erosion and nature.
Her figurative work explores identity, vulnerability and the tension between inner and outer selves. Recurring twin imagery and alter egos reflect on how women
present themselves and how they are perceived.
The making of the work is central to her practice. She prepares bespoke painting surfaces by embedding aggregates into gesso and weathering the ground, so the
canvas carries traces of erosion. Through this process, her paintings become reflections on time, memory, loss and the enduring traces we leave behind.
Born in Scotland, she has worked from her Glasgow studio for over twenty-five years, with her practice continuing to evolve.
