After 40 years at Glasgow School of Art, from student to lecturer, renowned sculptor, RGI and Art Club stalwart Robin Hume finally took the money and retired, and used his new found freedom to rekindle his love affair with painting.
For this exhibition, Robin has produced a series of paintings from his collection of favourite objects, collected over a lifetime he says – many of them broken, distressed or damaged but no less remarkable and interesting in their own right.
“The objects used in these paintings are of little monetary value but are things, in different ways, prized and valued by the painter. They are lares.” Robin Hume
