The global phenomenon of quilting

At the Tuesday morning talk on 18 December at the Kelly Gallery, guest speaker Patricia Macindoe gives us a an insight into The Quilted Planet –. Patricia is a member of the Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles and its specialist group, the British Quilt Study Group that promotes research into all aspects of patchwork and quilting and appliqué heritage.

A graduate of the Glasgow School of Art, Patricia has been surrounded by and worked with textiles all her life, describing her childhood home as a ‘blessed frenzy of fabric and stitch’.  She also co-founded the annual Loch Lomond Quilt Show, teaches and runs master classes throughout the UK, and has taught Arts & Crafts in Scottish prisons for past the 10 years

Starting at 11am, the talk lasts an hour and will inspire and set you up for the rest of the day. And did we mention the tantalising selection of home baking, tea and coffee on offer from 10.30 am, all handmade by the The Friends of the RGI?
